Johnson St. Bridge

Consisting of 3 different phases The Dynamic Beast was instrumental to the success of the Johnson St Bridge project.  

Phase 1 consisted of lifting the Rings in a horizontal position from shore, 334 short tons, as well as the Lower Counterweight (LCW) from shore, 267 short tons. Positioning The Dynamic Beast correctly in order to lift the Rings and LCW off the Beast and in place on the bridge pier.

Phase 2 involved lifting the Bascule Leaf (main bridge span), 495 metric tons into place on the bridge.

Phase 3 saw The Dynamic Beast return to the project site in order to lift and remove the existing bridge components for recycling and disposal of materials back in Vancouver.
